One of the many highlights of Danny Boyle’s fabulous Olympics opening ceremony was definitely the section celebrating the NHS and the best of British children’s literature. The impressive scene with all the story book bad guys, including the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Captain Hook from Peter Pan and a ginormous puppet Voldemort from Harry Potter was absolutely visually stunning.
Our little ones were certainly equal parts entranced and spooked by the amazing set, and it was definitely one to be watched from behind the safety of the sofa cushions. They definitely breathed a big sigh of relief when the marvellous multiple Mary Poppins flew in to save the day!
