If you’re considering holding a theme party for your next shindig, what could be better than the Wild West? The Wild West is a really fun era to channel for a party, and adults and children alike will love wearing cowboy fancy dress and getting into character. Themed food and decorations can also be used to set the scene. Here are some ideas for a great Wild West theme party:
- Food
When planning food for your Wild West party, think about what cowboys would have eaten. Serve hearty dishes like barbeque meats and beans with bread. You could serve hotdogs and burgers for children, and stock the bar with whiskey and beer for the adults.
- Decorations
For your party, you can turn your venue into a Wild West saloon. You can create sepia ‘wanted’ posters on your computer to hang on the walls, and even feature pictures of party guests on them. You can cover each table with chequered tablecloths and scatter poker chips and playing cards across them. Real (or plastic) cacti can be used as centrepieces to finish off the theme.
- Outfits
Encourage all of your guests to dress in Wild West themed fancy dress outfits. They could dress as cowboys or Indians, or even don a Mexican poncho. Female guests could dress as saloon girls, and children can take inspiration from Woody from Toy Story. You can also purchase some cheap cowboy hats to hand out to guests that may have been unable to find an outfit.
