We’re not talking about some kind of weird undead Olympics here, but instead a recent zombie walk which took place in Mexico City. For those not in the know, a zombie walk is an organised event at which people gather together for a march (or perhaps more accurately, a zombie-style shuffle) whilst dressed up in gory zombie costumes and ghoulish make up. These events are attended by people of all ages, from ghoulish grannies to terrifying toddlers!
Zombie walks have become quite a popular pastime across the globe in recent years. Gatherings in large city centres can attract quite a sizeable zombie horde, with thousands of the undead in attendance. Organisers of the recent Mexico City zombie walk claim to have played host to almost 10,000 of the walking dead. This smashes the Guinness World Record currently held for a 4,093-strong zombie walk held in Asbury Park, USA in 2010.
You might be surprised to learn that many zombie walks are not just purely about the fun of dressing up and letting your hair down, but that they are often organised with a charitable purpose in mind.
