As we were all tucking into our turkey and trimmings and playing games this Christmas, the world of TV soaps and dramas was happily carrying on in our boxes. So the big question is, was the Christmas TV a success this year?
Well, it appears so. Eastenders notched up a staggering 9.9 million viewers on the big day and Coronation Street hit the 9 million mark. Close behind that was Doctor Who and the fabulous period drama Downton Abbey not far behind them. The Downton Abbey rating reportedly came as a surprise following the great success of the finale of the second series, but the trial of Mr Bates obviously couldn’t beat the misery and tears that Eastenders had to offer.
So what is in store for us this New Year? How about some laughter with Morecambe and Wise or Alan Carr? Or more love and romance with another great costume drama in Pride and Prejudice? Whichever programme takes your fancy, here at Party Domain we suggest you tape them all and celebrate with a party instead. Invite all your friends and family round, wear your best New Year’s Eve Fancy Dress Costumes and have a blast….save the TV for the day after!
