Have you made any resolutions for this year? Are you still sticking to them now that we’re over a week into 2012 or have they already fallen by the wayside? I’m a big fan of resolutions myself. Even if you don’t manage to stick to them for very long, making them at all shows a degree of optimism and hope for what you might achieve during the shiny, new year. And we all need something to get us through the cold, dark month of January!
These days it seems that the old “lose weight/get fit” chestnut makes it on to most people’s lists of resolutions. Did it make it on to yours this year? It’s at the top of mine, yet again! If you’re planning to get fit in the New Year, how are you aiming to go about it? Have you got any top tips to share on how to keep motivated?
One of the very best ways to keep your fitness motivation going in the long run (pun intended), is to sign up for a run that’s taking place in your local area. You can often register now for events taking place later in the year, which gives you plenty of time to get fit and race-ready. As an additional motivation, why not sign up for the run along with a group of friends? That way you’ll have plenty of buddies to train with and there will always be someone on hand to gee you along if you’re slacking.
If you’re planning to take part in a run with a group of friends this year, then make sure that you can easily keep track of each other in the crowds on race day by all donning a matching fancy dress costume. The Running Man Accessory Set would be perfect for this! Also, if you’re running to raise money for a particular charity, then running in a fancy dress costume can be a great way to attract attention and therefore hopefully more donations for your good cause.
So here’s to keeping our resolutions in 2012. Ready, set….. GO!
