A couple in Kings Lynn in Norfolk certainly found a novel way to bring a real sense of fun to their wedding last week. David and Linda Alves eschewed the traditional wedding dress code and instead opted for a fabulous fancy dress theme to start their married life with a bang.
The couple, who are both in their fifties and getting married for a second time, decided to take their vows whilst dressed up as that most iconic of romantic pairings: Fred and Wilma Flintstone! The Alves said that the registrar was delighted to see the couple arrive sporting their Fred Flintstone and Wilma Flintstone fancy dress costumes, and even threw a few stone age related one liners into the wedding ceremony.
Not to be outdone by the newlyweds, many of David and Linda’s wedding guests also joined in the fun by turning up in fancy dress. So Kings Lynn Registry Office played host to all manner of famous guests that day, including Batman, Robin and even an Indian Brave in full headdress!
