Next Wednesday will see a truly historic telly moment, as our favourite dysfunctional Texan oil clan returns to the small screen for the first time since 1991. JR Ewing and co are back with a bit of a 2012 makeover, but with the classic elements of what made Dallas such a hit the first time around hopefully untouched.
When the doors of Southfork Ranch open once more, we’ll find a new generation of Ewings taking up where their fathers left off. John Ross Ewing Junior, son of JR and Sue Ellen, appears determined to carry on his father’s role as the ruthless bad guy businessmen. Every bad guy needs a goody two shoes nemesis, and John Ross Jr’s unwelcome moral conscience comes in the shape of environmentally conscious cousin Christopher Ewing, son of Bobby and Pamela.
Although much of the action in the Dallas reboot will be driven by the new, young characters, there will still be some familiar faces from the original Dallas series determined not to be left out of the fun. Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray will all be back to reprise their original roles and show these young whippersnappers just how it’s done.
We’ll certainly be making a date to catch up with our old friends from Dallas next Wednesday night. In fact, we might just treat ourselves to a special Cowboy Hat from our fantastic range of Fancy Dress Hats for the occasion. This funky Brown Dallas Cowboy Hat with Feather would look just darn tootin’, dont ya think?!
