It is a chance for schools and nurseries, clubs and groups to gather all their students and members together to make time for some storytelling. Fed up Friday? Not with fun fancy dress!

Horrid Henry Fancy Dress CostumeFridays are, as a rule, generally regarded as one of the more fun days of the week. School and work finishes up and the weekend begins. As with every rule though, there is an exception and it would appear that today is it. Dubbed “fed up Friday”, today is apparently the point in the summer holidays where parents are waving the white flag and struggling to keep the kids entertained as the long break drags on and the entertainment budget runs low. Giant Voldemort proves a spooky highlight at the Olympics

Lord Voldermort Fancy Dress CostumeOne of the many highlights of Danny Boyle’s fabulous Olympics opening ceremony was definitely the section celebrating the NHS and the best of British children’s literature. The impressive scene with all the story book bad guys, including the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Captain Hook from Peter Pan and a ginormous puppet Voldemort from Harry Potter was absolutely visually stunning.
