This beloved cartoon of the older and younger generations has entertained us for many years now. In recent years there has even been a few films made bringing the cartoon world into a real life situation. They have been films which families have been to the cinema or sat and watched at home together.
Due to how well loved these little blue characters have become over the years and how funny they look with them being blue a great fancy dress opportunity was developed. Many people can now get the costume to become a Smurf or Smurfette for a fun filled night out. Many people choose to go out and using this fancy dress so they can go as a group whether it be a group of friends or a family unit. Many will wear the costumes as a group for hen nights and stag nights.
Here is how to become a Smurf
The costume
You can get Smurf and Smurfette costumes for adults and children.
They comprise of: Boys – Jumpsuit and Headpiece Girls – Top, trousers and headpiece
Men’s- Shirt, trousers and headpiece Ladies – Top, trousers and headpiece
So within this you have the main part of the costume already.
The Makeup
You can get many types of theatre makeup for this but I think the best is Snazaroo. It is a water based makeup which is easy to apply with a sponge and easy to remove with soap and water. It is very skin friendly but of course it is always advised that a little spot is put on in advance as an allergy tester before using on your full face. There are a number of different blues to choose from but I believe the Sky Blue Snazaroo Face Paint is the best colour as it is the best match to the cartoon versions and the colour of the costume. The amount of faces you will be able to paint will depend upon the thickness the makeup is put on.
The Shoes
Of course you may want to just wear your own shoes or trainers but why not go the whole hog and get some white pumps to wear. You can get these fairly cheap from most sports and other fashion shops.
