Hen parties are an extension of the traditional stag party and is actually a fairly new thing not starting to become popular until the mid 1980’s. Of course now we know the Hen party as the last big night out with your girlie friends before you marry and become a married woman.
Hen nights can be a small get together for just a nice meal with your besties and family women to a few days away in a different country. The party can be very outgoing or more conservative.
If fancy dress is being chosen remember to consider the women you are inviting as to if you theme the fancy dress. If you have a group of quite outgoing ladies why not go for the sexier side of the fancy dress costume.

The French Maid
You have the classic French maid which you can always get so many different styles so you and your Hens should not look totally the same. Also if you have a few ladies who would rather not go so sexy should have a choice of something that comes up a little longer.
The Burlesque/Show Girl
These are a fun and frisky style of costume. You can get from the Burlesque style which is a corseted top and a bustle at the back. A pink and black dress with lots of bows and ruffles, maybe add a petticoat to lift it. Of course you also have the can can style dress which is rucked up at the front with a long rounded back.
Story Book Sweethearts
Red riding hood, snow white, queen of hearts or fairies. You can get beautiful but sexy versions of each of these types of costumes all you have to do is decide if you are sweet or a little spicy.
Whatever style of costume you choose to have for the Hen evening or if you decide to theme your perfect Hen party be sure to have an extravagantly entertaining evening. Don’t forget to organise the games you would all be playing and your little extras like Hen party Whistles, Bubbles and the all fun bottom pincher.
